The kids and I were kicked out of our house for a few hours today so we enjoyed the time with Great Gran! The kids and I put a few Easter eggs on my favorite tree, the kids hid eggs and had Great Gran find them, and Madison wore a basket as a hat!
No matter my age I love spending time with Grandma! Grandma always goes outside the door to wave bye to us! The kids even make me wait on Grandma to be at the door before we can turn on Randolph street. I pray one day I'm half of the grandma she has been to me! Not a day goes by that I don't think God for her! P.S. one advantage of Grandma not having internet she will never know I took or shared this picture of her! I love it! Also, can you find another place where Harrison put an Easter egg?

Decided to attack the shed today. I called my brother Kyle and he helped me organize all the tools and shed! I spent over two hours just unloading the shed and another 6 putting things away! Thankful that project is behind me. Special thank you to my brother! The kids sure love one another! You can see the ornery side of Ms.Madison in the pictures! No need to worry she can handle her own:)
Thankful for the beautiful Spring day and that we were able to enjoy it! We enjoyed our freedom this morning then Cardinal Glennon called... Madison was swabbed for viruses and staph on Friday and apparently, she is positive for MRSA. After losing my mind for a few minutes, I realized it is common. I was also told that it wasn't a huge deal. She will begin nose cream tomorrow and that should kick it. She has no open sores and MRSA is only in her nose. She hasn't been swabbed for this before so who knows how long she has been carrying it.
We will be homebound and no visits to see family until her swab is negative. As you can tell she will get anything and everything that is why we try our best to protect her! Besides all that fun we all are doing well! As you can tell Madison bounces back fast! She had an awesome weekend! The antibiotics have upset her stomach, but that hasn't slowed her down. She has been eating so well the last week that we have stopped TPN! This is a HUGE step for her! She has been on TPN since July! Praying she continues to do well and TPN is completely over for her! One big thing I've learned is recovery is different for every child! Some children breeze through transplant and others struggle! Madison carries a piece of paper and a pen around almost all day! She has even been taking it with her to nap! Today we noticed a big surprise when looking at her drawings! There is a flower at the top of her paper! I came across this sign last week and had to purchase it! So often we pray for the season, our circumstances, or surroundings to change and what we need to do is embrace where we are and BLOOM! There are several things we can't control, but our reactions we can! When life happens keep praying and make the best of where you are! A flower looks even more beautiful in the midst of weeds! Have a blessed week!
Well, after this insane week I'm drained. I'm unplugging the rest of the weekend to get refocused. Madison was released and remain on IV antibiotics for 10 days. Madison and I arrived at Pop and Great Gran's house around noon to get Harrison and Mae. So thankful for my grandparents and their willingness to help us in so many ways. This is a picture of Madison walking to Pop and Great Gran's for the first time! Mom (Nene) came home from work early since her arm was throbbing. Ninja Nene was working on her "Tire Jumping" skills last night and fell. With a broken arm the kids feel they need to stay with her (she needs a doctor and a nurse).❤️ Honestly, Harrison and Mae just want her sling❤️ Please pray that she gets comfort soon! Kyle came over from Edwardsville this morning and did Mom's hair! I am blessed beyond measure to have such amazing brothers! The plan was to be homebound all week.... Our prayer for the week was for stillness, peace, and love.... I find it humbling when those prayers are answered in the midst of a storm. In storms God's love shines bright!
I enjoyed our time with our Glennon family even though we were ready to leave yesterday ❤️ Three late nights, but time to think and process the last 6 weeks. The last several weeks have been one test after another. I'm feeling drawn to read the book of Job again. Days like today (complete exhaustion, van of three screaming kids, and motherly duties awaiting when I get home) I can't help, but laugh. I was never promised an easy life, but perseverance is the key to happiness! When trials hit we are reminded of God's ultimate sacrifice and our daily blessings! At the end of the day I'm thankful for those kids screaming, the house we will go home to, and all the job security (laundry, dishes, etc.) Enjoy your weekend! Remember to pray for your spouse and children daily! Also, please remember our Cardinal Glennon and Shelton families. |
