God is good. God is faithful. God hears our prayers. This morning, I called our accountant about our finances. We've had the same accountant for 10+ years. I trust him and I needed affirmation we were going to survive this season financially. I spoke openly about my concerns and the conviction we needed to pay off our home equity line as soon as possible (concerned interest rates will be increasing and don't want to be in a bigger mess). Ryan and I have been in prayer! Patiently waiting for an answer (at times not so patient). On my way to pick Harrison up from school I grabbed the mail (routine for me). The girls were fighting over fruit roll-ups so I didn't even look at the mail. I dropped off a friend's child and at the end of her driveway I noticed an envelope from a local church. I opened the envelope and I pulled out a card that read, "Dear Friends, Hope this small gift will enrich your lives. Please keep on proclaiming Jesus to others. May God bless your entire family. I am a firm believer in James 2:14-18. Signed- Another Friend of Jesus. James 2:14-18 Faith and Deeds 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. As soon as I finished reading a check fell out of the envelope onto my lap. The amount was God's answer to our prayers! In addition, to this letter our home equity line bill came today (affirmation of God's faithfulness and where the monies were to go). Once I pulled it together I called and shared with our accountant. The person who donated these monies wants to remain anonymous. My prayer is they read this blog post and know how God used them to touch our lives! Thank you for answering God's call! Thank you for being God's hands and feet! Thank you for being obedient! Thank you for loving God! Thank you for putting your faith into action! Often we worry about tomorrow, but remember God calls us to pray!
