Madison woke me up at 4am this morning crying. I reached into her crib to find her paci and she was burning up.... 103.8 was the temperature. We made a mad dash to Cardinal Glennon and are waiting on the results from all the labs. We are sure it is a virus since Harrison and Mae are also under the weather.
We have been so cautious and Madison literally goes no where. Unfortunately, this disease makes it so easy for her to get sick... It doesn't help that Harrison and Mae also seem to get everything under the sun since their counts aren't the best. The transplant meeting that was scheduled today was emotional. The conversation with the transplant doctor was real. The weeks are getting closer to Madison's transplant. We are still waiting on information from our donor, but the plan is still to have the transplant the first of July with the prep at the end of June. The reality that Madison is having a bone marrow transplant becomes and feels real when she is sick and we are in the hospital. We have been lucky that this is only Madison's third hospital stay and most of the time looks and feels great! Our lives before, during and post tranplant will be very sheltered. I admit this past weekend, while being extremely cautious we have enjoyed time with friends and family. Unfortunately, we take the risk of Madison getting sick. We have to take this as a learning experience and continue to isolate Madison from others and limit the exposure the rest of us have to those we love. Madison has to go into transplant healthy and that has to be our focus. Thank you for your prayers, love, and support. Please pray for peace as we prepare for the journey ahead. Love, The Lash Family
