God provided a winter snow to cover the ground today. The white snow covering everything is a reminder of Christ's love and forgiveness. We were blessed to have Jason, Mindy, Sawyer, and Abram over for breakfast. With Sawyer being in Kindergarten they have managed to pick up almost every bug this flu season. We are thankful for their good health and the time we were able to spend together! Ryan and I watched the movie "Woodlawn" Friday night and we really enjoyed it. Such a good movie... The saying that stands out to me the most is... This afternoon the kids were yelling at the window, "Mom, God's people are here." I looked out the window to see my dear friends Curtis and Rachel Thompson praying in our front yard. God calls us all to be his hands and feet, Calls us all to pray, and calls us all to love one another....Are you answering the calls?

God gives or will give you a partner that balances you out, brings out the best in you, and will be what you need.
To share a little about the partner God gave me I want to reflect and share how he has responded to recent flooding in our basement... Thursday evening when Harrison, Mae, and I were crying; Ryan was wiping down the floor saying, "Thank you God that we are home," "Thank you God for not letting the water get to our new furnace, "Thank you God for protecting our family," and "Linds it's just drywall!" As a strong Christian wife and mother I too have breaking points! That is why I thank God for Ryan! When I need him he is there and sometimes that is just to calmly say, "Linds, this is nothing from what we've been through." I have learned much during the last several months and still learning... Yesterday, I was reminded of the importance to surround myself with people who inspire, motivate, and love me. If you have a crack Satan will do everything in his power to get in! The truth is you may not even know the crack is present. In our recent flood situation the water from our washing machine found a small crack in the floor and within 5 minutes the water had traveled down to the basement ceiling and then to the walls. When we allow Satan to come in our homes, relationships, thoughts, etc. he will ruin all he touches. It is important that we ask God to protect us and put the armor of God on every single day. Protect your hearts! Don't leave the door to your home cracked open! First, as the Lash Family we love God! We will not allow Satan to destroy our family, faith, or spirit.
Last night, I took a shower downstairs and then ran upstairs and started a load of laundry. I went to our bedroom put socks on then returned to the addition to get Madison's meds. When I opened the door it sounded like I left the shower on....to my dismay it was actually water pouring out of a can light in the ceiling downstairs.... I ran upstairs shut the washer off (still no clue how I knew it was the washer) and then started screaming for Ryan... We spent the next hour drying up water in the basement all the new drywall (ceilings and walls) is ruined. SERVPRO came a little before noon to start the drying out process, tape off the entire addition from the rest of our home, and help with a safe plan of action for repair with Madison in the home. Yes, I have cried! Ryan thankfully came home this afternoon to help me move all of Madison's medicines and med frig and talk to insurance and SERVPRO. I have called Madison's doctors and not sure what the safest plan of action for Madison is at this point. No mold has even started growing so that is good, but once construction starts it may not be safe for us to stay here. SERVPRO has been amazing! They have literally closed off the addition from our home (vents, doors, etc.) and all drywall and water damage has been removed. The doctors feel we should be fine to stay here over the weekend. We are not allowing even immediate family to come over at this point since we don't have a "cleaning area." Happy Valentines' Day Weekend from the Lash Family❤️ Madison and I had company today on our ride to St.Louis! Cousin Shel came along and it was so nice!!! We enjoyed the time together❤️ Harrison and Mae spent the day with Great Gran and Pop! Pop got up extra early to shovel the driveway and sweep the sidewalk... I couldn't tell him that little feet preferred the snow❤️❄️ Harrison informed me that Great Gran told him, "I'm going to tie you to a tree!" I informed him when 81 year old Great Gran says that you will be in your room till dinner and back in there after! I have a feeling they will be better next time! Mae decided since she was in her room she would just go ahead and take the nap she didn't take with Great Gran! Blessed beyond measure that at 32 years old I still have three of my four grandparents and my kids have memories with them❤️ Love my grandparents and Ryan's too!❤️❤️
Our friend Fallon was admitted into the hospital today. Please pray for a speedy recovery and most of all good health. Evenings like tonight we are reminded how having healthy children should never be taken for granted. Madison is doing good. Minus a mild rash and teething issues (she is behaving). Clinic tomorrow which will be a longer day since IVIG is planned. Again, please continue to pray for all of our dear friends! This time of year (flu season) is horrible for our immune suppressed friends (family). Madison's hair has some wave and curls to it❤️ My bleach blond Madison is sporting a darker look❤️
