I've decided that Madison's strength and fight is beyond understanding... She rarely cries even though her little bottom is on fire, vomiting is violent, and diarrhea/stomach pain brings her to her feet.... She rarely complains and even bust out a smile several times a day. RESILIENCY.... A word I've come to see and truly understand. Not only does our Madison exhibit this, but several children we call friends do also. IF you have the opportunity to see resiliency in action you will be changed for the rest of your life! You will quickly understand what your purpose is in life and where fighting comes from. A good day for Madison and I! ANC number is inclining at record rates for a transplant, Matt Holiday gave us a wave, and Nancy Stine brought me her famous bbq nachos! God is good! We included our "crib" video:) Another successful day in the books. ANC is 480 today, we got tons of cards in the mail, Lauren Daigle liked our post on FB, and Madison had an overall good day. Afternoons are rough with lots of stomach pain and vomiting:( The transplant engraftment is happening faster than usual, but we aren't complaining! With a stem cell transplant using cord blood engraftment usually doesn't happen until day 25-45 and Madison is on day 11. Engraftment is when the new blood-forming cells start to grow and make healthy blood stem cells that show up in your blood and it is an important milestone in your transplant recovery. When Madison's ANC number is 500 for more than three days in a row that means she is engrafted! Madison's ANC number was 160 today!
Please continue to pray that Madison's body does well and graft vs host disease is minimal to non-existent! |
