When I was younger nothing was better than playing in the basement with Kayci, Michelle, Melissa, and Jenny. We would have our yearly talent show that involved cheering, singing, and laughing. After that, we would play school for a few hours... no surprise three of the the five of us became teachers. As we got older the talent shows and play school faded, but the talks and laughs in the basement didn't... Actually, I still sit in the basement to eat the holiday meals. This year their was no Thanksgiving chat time with cousins, but I know deep in all of our hearts the memories are still there. Fast forward to 2015 I think all five of us would love to be back in the basement with no worries of our adult lives. Years later the five of us have 11 kids and 1 on the way, loving husbands, and our fair share of other blessings. In life there on several things that money can't buy and time with family is one of them. Kayci came to visit the kids and I in St.Louis. No matter what age we are, what has changed, so many things are still the same. One of the greatest memories was when Kayci picked me up for school. I was a freshmen and she was a junior (need I say more). Then when she became a senior it was even better because the parking lot was literally right next to the school.... I won't mention the number of times I had to call her to make sure she was coming to pick me up:) Kayci loved to roll into school at 8:20am. Cousins are God's gifts to us! Friends with no expectations, friends that withstand the test of time, friends that you see during school breaks, and friends who love unconditionally. I'm beyond blessed for all the cousins God has given me! I'm also so thankful for how God has and is changing their lives! Of course I couldn't let Cassandra and Ashley off of the hook! lol! Madison UpdateTomorrow is a big day! IVIG, meeting with surgeon, g-button replaced with a new, and labs.... I'm sure we will be in clinic all day!
Please be in prayer for Fallon that she has a good and quick clinic visit tomorrow. Kayley was transported to another hospital early this morning... Please continue to pray.

I was beyond excited to put my Faith for Fallon sweatshirt on and go help unload Christmas gifts. Fallon's family, friends, and community put together an amazing toy drive in behalf of a special little girl! The Lash family is blessed to call Kevin, Katie, and Fallon friends. Mae enjoyed helping unload gifts also... (At least the first 30 mins).
Harrison and I spent the afternoon together finishing up a few projects for some special people in our lives. Madison has been vomiting this evening so unsure what the cause. We have a calm evening eating cheesecake and watching Christmas movies❤️ Kayley is being transported tonight to Texas where she will have more surgeries. Please be in prayer! Madison gained weight from Thursday's weigh in!!!!!! I'm beyond excited! Her kidney levels are still not the best so will be pushing even more fluids this week. Today was a quick clinic visit since Thursday will be long day (IVIG and surgeon will be in to change her g-button). Harrison and Mae also went to clinic today and both are virus free!❤️ I bought another diffuser from Melaleuca since it was the best out of my DoTerra and Young Living ones... (It holds more water and runs longer).... Also, absolutely love the Looters' Legend blend from Olivia tree! It's 100% Essential Oils! The company is in Illinois and love all their products! Between those two things we have all stayed healthy! Maebry tested positive for two viruses, but never had symptoms and the rest of us stayed healthy. Olivia Tree is very affordable and has 20% off Tuesday and Wednesday the promo code is Christmas20 Since I was without a sitter today Ryan took off of work to help me... We enjoyed our extra day together and tomorrow it is back to crazy. Ryan needs to finish the entire addition by Saturday so I can deep clean. Praying for little working "Elves" to show up in the evenings if not Ryan will be pulling some all nighters. I've said from the beginning that this life isn't about us... It's about praising and keeping our focus on God. I wanted to share some of the friends we have been praying for... Please lift them up also. Please continue to pray for Haley. She is on continuous oxygen. Please pray that the meds begin working so her body can rest. Here is the Update on Kayley from Reece- Sorry for missing yesterday's update. There wasn't much to say and I was getting ready to go back to work. I did go back to work this morning, but ended up getting called to the hospital before noon. Kayley will be moving to the Texas Children's Hospital as soon as they can secure her a room in the PICU. The doctors believe that the reason she flatlined when the pulled her off the ventilator is that her pulmonary artery (which is errantly going to the body) is half the size of her Aorta (which is errantly going to her lungs), so without the positive pressure of the ventilator, all of her blood pools in her lungs. That means they can't wait for her to grow like they were hoping, and she'll have to have her surgery as soon as possible. We're still trying to figure out the logistics of how we're getting there and what to do with our boys. Not sure how it will work out, but as Melissa's dad said, the Lord will show us what the right plan is when it's time for us to know. Hoping to hear some more details from the cardiologist tonight after she closes with the surgical team in Houston and the PICU there about when they could have her scheduled and arrange transport. I could be any time between tonight and Wednesday to leave. To avoid the risk of this turning into a novel, I'll save the rest for tomorrow's update. I will say that today we're thankful for Amanda Ferguson's leadership in coordinating our support system. A lot of people have offered to do the same too, and we're also grateful to them. Amanda has set up a GoFundMe account for Kayley at https://www.gofundme.com/nzehzwkk. Before I even posted this, people started donating. Sometimes I think my life is one long lesson in humility... and today is no different. DAY Three QUESTION: What is your favorite Bible verse?Hitting the day markers of day +50, then +100, and now Day +150 is HUGE!!! We celebrated by being together and enjoying holiday traditions with a twist. Usually, we go to my parents to make cookies and this year they came to us.... We didn't make all that we usually do, but made a few of our favorites... Ryan even made "Muffy balls (buckeyes)".....Due to them being bite size I ate most of them! (Less calories). A little family competition always does the marriage good! Ryan is clearly the more artistic one out of the two of us, but I held my own! The Girls' is on the Left and Boys' is on the RightThis season has brought Ryan and I closer. Our appreciation, patience, and love for one another has grown. We have enjoyed the time we are together and truly make it the best we can! There hasn't been tons of time the last 6 months, but quality time! Ryan is my best friend and so thankful we have one another! What is your favorite Christmas cookie?
Since Ryan and I have been married we have sent out Christmas cards! Since Madison has been in the hospital we made it a point to send "Thank you/Prayer Cards" to all of you that have shown love and support to our family! I wish I could send out Christmas Cards this year, but time has gotten away from me! Today. I just decided not to stress and realize most will understand! (Mae informed me she is already on frigrator's).
Since Christmas is in two weeks and we love the holidays; at the end of each blog, I'm going to ask a question... I've been sharing our life with you and now we want to hear about yours! 1. Did you send out Christmas cards this year? If so, please post a picture!!! Merry Christmas! Love, The Lash Family Day 13 of the Scripture Challenge: |
