Day 188: Unspoken words III

Tragedies and trials have a way of bringing out the core of people around you. The way people react in such events shares with you who is ruling their life. The person they are deep down inside. In addition, the core of who you are is revealed.

During the time in hospital I spent much time allowing God to show me what I needed to work on. Often it is easy to point out the flaws of those around you and not yourself. Ryan and I played a game this evening.... We stated people's names and had to say something positive about them. Often conversations with our spouses and friends are negative. I've been working on this area of my life. Remember the words we speak about ourselves and others are children hear.

Through this journey the raw, sensitive, and real people come out. There is nothing to hide behind and no where to hide. Satan wants you to focus on all the faults of those around you, but God wants you to keep your focus on him.

From my experience Satan uses people close to you to bring you doubt, frustration, and hurt. Satan wants a tragedy and trial to not only destroy you, but your entire family. The more you focus on God the harder and more intense Satan attacks.

There was a point in our journey that I was overwhelmed with frustration and God called me to focus on him and the good in others. When the storms in life arise focusing on God can change the way you view a person, situation, or crisis.

There is so much negativity in this world and unfortunately when in a trial or tragedy the negativity doesn't go away. In life we choose how we handle and address the negative world. My grandpa always said, "Don't add fuel to that fire."

God is on your side. The only person you can change is yourself and your reactions.

I sure do appreciate your posts, Lindsay (spelling?); I can tell that during your time in hospital w/your daughter, the Lord was there with you and taught you many things. My heart went out to you & your family all of those months. God bless your little family as you move on and praise God for the healing thus far! Catherine

Lindsay- I am always amazed what you share- how God has changed you and your transparency. I am blest again and again as I read your posts. You are so right...in those tragic or difficulties in our lives we know who we are and who we trust in. The Lord bless you and make His face to shine around your family.
