Ryan and I headed out last night with our dear friends (Jeff and Leora). Two hours into our evening Skyler (Sister-in-law) sent me a picture of Madison's line.... The extension piece broke again and had to be fixed immediately. I walked her through the process (thank God for FaceTime and the fact she is a nurse). Within 15mins Skyler had put a new extension line on her broviac. After talking to the doctor this morning we are now headed to Saint Louis for blood cultures and antibiotics. Please pray cultures come back negative.
Ryan and I wake up each day with no personal expectations. We just know God has us on this earth one more day to fulfill his purpose. Last night, I had the opportunity to hug a complete stranger that is fighting breast cancer, I had the opportunity to embrace a mother with a son who has autism, and catch a smile of someone who said, "I know you." One day when I get to heaven I will embrace God and say, "Thank you for believing in me, giving me the strength when I had none, and loving me through my life on earth. Thank you for giving me Harrison and his strong leadership skills, thank you for giving me Mae that slowed me down and showed me how to embrace tough love, and thank you for giving me Madison and the dimple we share. Most of all, thank you for giving me Ryan to encourage, complete, and challenge me in this life. I will continue to say, "This life isn't about me!" One day we will all realize this truth!
