After Ryan and I got home from the race yesterday, our pumpkins were waiting to hear all about it. Of course, they were extremely concerned about us walking funny. From my experiences 1/2 and full marathons are more mental, emotional, and spiritual than physical. You can be in the best shape physically, but never cross the finish line. Running or walking any long distance has always been my outlet. It is however; an emotional adventure for me! Yesterday's race was no different!
"Not everyone is truly content with with his or her life. Often times we are unsatisfied and seek more for what we don't have and who we are. Through scripture however, we are commanded to be content with all we have in life. We are to be reminded not of what we don't have and who we are not, but of what we do have, who we are, and who we can be." Philippians 4:12-13: "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Remember contentment can only come from God!
