Madison had a great day! Fun times with daddy, tried busting out of the unit, and working on getting legs stronger!

When seasons arrive in our life that aren't easy, a challenge, or out of the norm our foundation is tested.  What is a foundation and how is it formed?? Being a wife of a man who "knows" concrete I will attempt to explain.

From  the day I met Ryan fifteen years ago we (God, Ryan, and I) began working on the "Foundation" of our marriage and family...

The dating years were focused on grading the ground- getting to know one another, setting boundaries, goals, discussing dreams, and allowing God to smooth the ground.

The year of engagement was spent forming the walls- taking my families' values and his and establishing what we felt God wanted for us and our future family.

Our Wedding Day: The foundation was poured. Being a family of Faith we made sure our Foundation was God (concrete),

The next 8 years were focused on finishing the concrete and sawing it..... I love the idea of sawing concrete. You saw the concrete so when and if it cracks it cracks where you want it to... In those 8 years Ryan and I have cracked (fought, cried, yelled, gotten mad, etc.), but due to sawing the concrete it didn't fall apart.

This past year we stripped the forms.... Ryan and I felt that God had guided us in the formation of our foundation and the foundation was ready to have the forms stripped.

Once the forms are stripped off the concrete the foundation is tested... As all of you know our foundation has been tested, but guess what it is still standing...

What I have learned in the formation of your foundation as a couple it  doesn't happen over night... it takes time to have a foundation that will last through time. I thank God for Ryan and for showing us that having him as the foundation allows for true happiness.

Marriage is work! Every day you have to show up and give it your all.

God doesn't give you the person you can live with he gives you the one you can't live without!
