Ryan and I had several waves added to our storm this week. So we spent the day in God's word and even reached out to a couple of sermons online and on television. The first sermon we watched was on storms that we all have in our life. The bible focus was in Matthew. There were two key points: 1. Believe Jesus is with us 2. Protect your focus Protecting our focus is so important! Satan throws doubt, fear, anger, situations, etc. at us and if we turn our focus to those things we miss the best and rest that God provides. It is so important to MAGNIFY THE LORD (make the positive BIGGER than the negative). I've tried to stay focused, but the truth is if we don't protect our focus when the waves begin coming in we can lose it very quickly... For example, when Madison was admitted back into the hospital I was rattled (wave #1), then the wave of finding sitters for the kids (wave #2), and by the time wave #3 hit I was drowning..... What happened to you this week that left you in the same situation? How can we protect our Focus??? What I am working on this week is "Protecting My Focus!" 1. we have to be aware the thoughts that we have that are negative! We all have them! The issue is when we let those thoughts control us and we store them in our heart.... STOP over thinking situations and hand them over to God! 2. Some waves are actually not waves! You know those events that we make way bigger than they are.... Step back and pray! 3. Be Still! When the waves come in I start swimming or flaring my arms... Sometimes if we just float those waves can be fun! God wants to fight the waves for us! It's okay to not participate in the negative! Write down your focus for the week and be intentional about protecting it!!!! If you want to share it please do! God Bless!!!
