Madison gained weight!!!!! She was down to 9.8 Kilograms and is back up to 11!!!! She is eating and not getting sick so I would say we are already on a better foot than last week! Thank you for all the prayers!!!!! A quick trip to clinic today! Only spending four hours is a reason to celebrate!! It would have been sooner, but we had to wait on meds!! We ran into our dear friend Walter! Walter was in the transplant unit with us! Walter is now on day +101! He is such a great kid that will be starting college next semester! Addiction![]() Addiction is a state characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli, despite adverse consequences. You Guessed It! A few weeks ago I threw stones at a friend with an addiction... It was an addiction that I didn't struggle with so it seemed easy to make comments like, "Really, you can stop doing that!" Within minutes I felt convicted about my lack of thinking and harsh words. So much that I agreed to work on my addiction too.... (Sometimes you say things that can hurt someone else! It's important to apologize!) We all have addictions! Here are a few gossiping, drinking, smoking, over eating, over anything...... My addiction is SUGAR! As some of you are laughing inside, I'm being serious. I'm an emotional eater! God hit me in the face last night as I was reading my bible eating a piece of chocolate cake at 9pm! Don't get me wrong chocolate cake may not be your addiction. but SUGAR is mine! When I'm tired I grab sugar, when I'm thirsty I grab sugar, and when I'm hungry I grab sugar...... With diabetes on both sides of my family this isn't okay... Last week I attempted to part ways with sugar and then I was tempted.... Guess by whom??? The devil! With my heart on my focus this week "STAYING FOCUSED ON GOD'S DIRECTION FOR OUR FAMILY!" Staying clear of sweets will lead to a healthier lifestyle for all.... God doesn't want me to deal with life by eating it! Here is to a sugar free week! What is an addiction your struggling with? Remember you can't deal with an addiction by yourself! Go to God and ask him to provide someone to guide you!
