The girls and I headed to St.Louis early this morning... The girls watched Veggie Tales and I listed to Living on the Edge with Chip Ingram. I started listening to the series "Good to Great in God's Eyes" and literally all day I thought about the message. I encourage you to take a listen you won't be disappointed. http://player.subsplash.com/e7d67aa Mr. Ingram challenged the listeners to look in your rear-view mirror to mentally build your own personal Mount Rushmore. Think about four or five people that have positively impacted or influenced your life. Who are the most pivotal people who have had a positive influence in your life? I enjoyed listening to his five people and why... My goal this week is to not only write down the five, but reach out to them. Some of them are living and others are not, but Mr. Ingram inspired me to this task. The girls melt my heart and for only about 20 minutes on the way home they decided to take a nap. Every day is an adventure! We had to go another route home since the road was closed and I was able to drive by a dear friend's house. I can hear her saying in heaven, "Lindsay, the picture in the newspaper of your family was beautiful so glad your home." My prayer is when I'm no longer on this earth that God's love and positive words will come to mind when people think of me. This world longs for us to focus on the negative and God longs for us to focus on him!
Happy Monday friends! Who would be on your Mount Rushmore?

Well, Ms. Mae fell and hit her head on the concrete this afternoon... The size of the goose egg resulted in a quick er visit! A special thank you St. Anthony for being so understanding of our situation and getting Mae back to a room! Thank you Bev Wodtka for filling in the staff on our situation before Ryan arrived. The CT scan was good, and her good platelet count allows us to sleep tonight. She will have two black eyes and her wrist hurts, but all is well. Thank you St.Anthony for Ms.Chelsie (bear) she is currently in the washing machine so we can enjoy her! Harrison decided to put all of Mae's clean clothes away tonight since she was hurt. The love the kids have for one another is a blessing! Harrison said, "I'm busy you can't take my picture." Well, looks like our week has already started with a little excitement... Praying the rest of the week is absolutely boring.
Ryan granted me a few hours out of the house❤️ I've decided that I need at least two hours out of the house each week to keep my head in the game❤️ Thank you so much Amy and Allyson for the amazing noddles and cake❤️ Most of all, the visit on the porch❤️ Kids enjoyed the afternoon out sledding with Ryan (Ryan is a kid at heart).
Madison had a rough day... No fever just lots of crying like she doesn't feel well. She has upper and lower first molars coming in so assuming that is the issue. A calm and quiet night at the Lash house. The full moon is shining bright so praying we all sleep tonight! Week filled with more adjusting... Getting in a routine with school, clinic, therapist visits, and just being...
Madison had a great week with friends and although some labs aren't the best she is still doing great. Harrison and Mae enjoyed the snow and time with Great Gran, Aunt Kathy, and Nene when we were at clinic. The kids conquered the letter "t" this week and love doing homework! I'm trying to get my pre-baby body back... 10lbs per child, 10 lbs bone marrow transplant, and 10 lbs of marital bliss is the amount that needs to come off. Finding time for myself is always interesting, but needed. Three workouts in this week so I think that's worth cheering about. Thank you all for continuing to pray for our family. One day at a time❤️ Tragedies and trials have a way of bringing out the core of people around you. The way people react in such events shares with you who is ruling their life. The person they are deep down inside. In addition, the core of who you are is revealed.
During the time in hospital I spent much time allowing God to show me what I needed to work on. Often it is easy to point out the flaws of those around you and not yourself. Ryan and I played a game this evening.... We stated people's names and had to say something positive about them. Often conversations with our spouses and friends are negative. I've been working on this area of my life. Remember the words we speak about ourselves and others are children hear. Through this journey the raw, sensitive, and real people come out. There is nothing to hide behind and no where to hide. Satan wants you to focus on all the faults of those around you, but God wants you to keep your focus on him. From my experience Satan uses people close to you to bring you doubt, frustration, and hurt. Satan wants a tragedy and trial to not only destroy you, but your entire family. The more you focus on God the harder and more intense Satan attacks. There was a point in our journey that I was overwhelmed with frustration and God called me to focus on him and the good in others. When the storms in life arise focusing on God can change the way you view a person, situation, or crisis. There is so much negativity in this world and unfortunately when in a trial or tragedy the negativity doesn't go away. In life we choose how we handle and address the negative world. My grandpa always said, "Don't add fuel to that fire." God is on your side. The only person you can change is yourself and your reactions. |
